This journal is a dark AU where Kuroba Kaito did in fact get killed by his robot double.
"Kaito" took over his life, but fueled entirely by self interest he became something quite different. Akito is driven by greed and a moral center made of cold treasure. Kid is dangerous, people have died, and everyone around him is forever changed.
